DAYTON - The Bloomington PrairieThunder, scoring a season-high eight goals, snapped a five-game winless streak Saturday at Hara Arena with an 8-4 victory over Dayton in International Hockey League action.

With the victory, Bloomington moved its record to 26-25-3-5 (60 points) ahead of Sunday's 3:05 p.m. contest at Flint.

The PrairieThunder fired 16 shots at the net in the first period and found paydirt four times. Brian Boulay started the onslaught 2:15 into the game off an assist by Craig Macdonald.

Newcomer Matt Woodard, playing in only his second game with the PrairieThunder after being claimed off waivers Thursday, weaved his way through the Dayton defense after taking a pass from Boulay on a power play to score at the 11:14 mark.

Dayton cut the deficit in half when A.J. MacLean scored on assists by Ian McPhee and Russell Smith with 9:30 to go. Jason Lepine scored on a power play goal with 5:11 remaining on an assisy by Robin Gomez.

Gomez then added the fourth goal one minute later on assists by Zac Pearson and Jamie Carroll.

The PrairieThunder added three goals in the second period after MacLean's second goal pulled Dayton within, 4-2, at the 9:51 mark off assists by Adam Maccarone and John Snowden.

Lepine drove home his second power play goal with 6:18 left on assists by Carroll and Macdonald. Brett Holmberg scored two minutes later on assists by Greg McCauley and Woodard.

Macdonald put the PrairieThunder ahead, 7-2, with 51 seconds left in the period on assists by Bill Bagron and Carroll. Dayton outshot the PrairieThunder, 15-12, in the period.

Bagron scored the PrairieThunder's final goal on a power play with assists to Macdonald and Carroll.

Seabastian Dahm earned the win in net, stopping 30 of 34 shots.
