Bloomington PrairieThunder News Release

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Bloomington PrairieThunder coach Jarrod Skalde announced Tuesday that veteran forward Jan Jas and rookie left winger Trevor Geiger have been placed on waivers. The moves were necessary to make room on the roster for forward Jamie Carroll.

Carroll was obtained in a trade with Port Huron last week and signed a contract Tuesday. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not released.

Jas is currently under indefinite suspension by the International Hockey League while immigration issues are being addressed. The 31-year-old Jas scored 43 points (17 goals, 26 assists) in 46 games last season for the PrairieThunder after joining the team mid-season in a trade with Flint.

The 25-year-old Carroll finished eighth in the league in scoring last year with 80 points on 28 goals and 52 assists for Port Huron. Geiger played sparingly in Bloomington's first two games this season with no statistics.

The PrairieThunder (1-1-0-0) returns to action Friday with a 7 p.m. game at two-time defending IHL champion Fort Wayne before returning to U.S. Cellular Coliseum for its home opener Saturday at 7:05 p.m. against Dayton.

Tickets for all 38 PrairieThunder home games are on sale at the U.S. Coliseum box office or on online at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000 and 309-585-0507, ext. 304.
