Bloomington Thunder News Release
The Bloomington Thunder of the USHL are pleased to present their new logo to the public.
The logo, designed by Keith Flynn of Flynnagain designs in Canada, reflects a new vibrant look.
With a new ownership group in a new league that is the best of the best of the best. The logo is fast-moving and edgy while keeping with the train theme.
The new train projects a more current train, with an updated fast-paced movement in a vibrant color scheme.
"We felt it was important to keep some consistency in the market given the ownership and name changes over the past number of years," said CSH International Inc. President Gary Gelinas. "With the historical reference of the name 'Thunder' in the region, we felt it made sense to keep the name."
"The colors are based on a review of the top colors used in sports and merchandise today. Colors that customers are attracted to and will work well with jerseys and apparel and provide us a look unlike any other team in the USHL," added Gelinas.
"I think we can use the name, the colors and the train images to create an energetic game night experience for the fans of Bloomington, Normal and the region," said VP/GM Kurt Silcott. "Gary (Gelinas) has created a new refreshed train that fans will be proud to wear in a color scheme that works in concert with the logo."
Keeping the name Thunder reflects the history of the region in hockey. The new logo reflects that this team is in a new league, has a new focus and highlights the fast-paced action-packed game of hockey. The colors represent the fact that the team is current in the building and the brand is one of the best leagues, of any kind and in any sport, in the United States.
