
Thunder Treks To Fort Wayne

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Bloomington PrairieThunder will be out to snap Fort Wayne's three-game winning streak when the teams meet in a 6:30 p.m. International Hockey League game Wednesday at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
The Komets, who have won four of their last five games, handed the PrairieThunder a 5-2 setback on Sunday in Bloomington. Fort Wayne owns a 7-2 advantage in the season series, including a shootout victory.
The PrairieThunder also will be out to gain on the Komets in the standings. Bloomington has a 21-20-2-5 record (49 points) for fourth place. Fort Wayne sits in third place with a 29-15-0-2 and 60 points. The Komets are 16-4-0-1 at home, while the PrairieThunder is 5-11-0-5 on the road.
Bloomington's Craig Macdonald and Jon Booras enter the game third and fourth in the league in scoring with 57 and 56 points, respectively. Macdonald is tied for first in the league in power play goals with 11 and game-winning goals with seven. He is second in goals scored with 27. Booras is second in overall assists with 39 and power play assists with 17.
Meanwhile, the PrairieThunder's Jason Lepine has climbed into second in overall scoring among defensemen with 33 points on seven goals and 27 assists, which also rank second. Lepine tops all defensemen in the league in power play assists with 14. Teammate Matthew Spiller is third among defensemen with five power play goals.
As a team, the PrairieThunder leads the league in power play goals with 45; power play goals against with 47 and short-handed goals with 11. Bloomington's last three goals have been of the short-handed nature. Zac Pearson has two of the three goals.
The PrairieThunder, which notched its first win of the season when trailing after the first period in Friday's victory over Quad City, has an 18-6-0-2 record on the three teams behind it in the standings and a 3-14-2-3 mark on the three teams ahead of it in the standings.
