Bloomington PrairieThunder News Release
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Bloomington PrairieThunder coach Jarrod Skalde announced Tuesday the signing of rookie forward T.J. Schneider to a 14-day International Hockey League tryout agreement.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Schneider began the season with the Chicago Blaze of the AAHL where he was a teammate of current PrairieThunder player Nick Elligsen. Schneider had 11 goals and eight assists for 19 points in 13 games.
The 25-year-old native of Spring City, Penn., who shoots right, will wear No. 11 and replace rookie forward Mike Liambas in the lineup. Liambas is out six to eight weeks after emergency surgery Sunday to repair lacerated tendons in his wrist. He was injured in a game against Fort Wayne.
