DAYTON, OH - Snowden completed the week posting a total of six points (four goals, two assists) and a plus/minusrating of plus-four in four games played last week. He collected three of his six points this week against Quad City Sunday, a team that he has recorded 11 points (seven goals, four assists) against in four games vs. the Mallards so far this season. Snowden was a part of six of the 10 goals scored by the Gems this past week and had points in three of the four games played. The 28-year-old Everett, Washington native is currently leading the Gems in scoring with 20 goals and 16 assists for 36 points in 46 games played. His 36 points also rank him 14th in the IHL in scoring.

The Gems played 4 games in 5 days last week. Heading to Quad City on Wednesday. Back to back games against Muskegon- at Hara on Friday and at L. C. Walker on Saturday all 3 games were wins for the foes. Valentine's Day finally brought the Gems a win against the Quad City Mallards.

This week the Gems will kick off the Air Force Aid Fundraiser at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Coach Marks will be turning over a donation of $3000 to Base Commander Bradley Spacy. The Gems held an auction of special camouflage jerseys on Wright Patterson Night at Hara Arena on January 29th.

In the past 10 games the Gems leading scorers have been: John Snowden with 6 goals and 3 assists for 9 points, A.J. MacLean with 2 goals and 4 assists for 6 points and Tim Hartung (in 7 games) with 6 assists.

At home scoring leaders for the season are John Snowden who in 22 games had 9 goals and 7 assists, Mike Vaskivuo in 24 games with 8 goals and 8 assists and Jon Ornelas in 24 games with 9 goals and 5 assists.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE: The Gems will meet Flint on the road on Friday. This Saturday at Hara when the Gems meet the Fort Wayne Komets for a 7:30pm face off it will be Dayton Spiritual Television sponsored by DATV (Time Warner Local Cable Access Station). Faith groups are encouraged to attend and group seating is available. Dayton Spiritual TV will be in the lobby handing out information and signing people up for prize drawings. It is also Kettering Community Night when the Gems welcome friends, families, businesses and local groups from Kettering to support theircommunities. Group seating is available. Kettering, Fairmont and Alter schools are participating.
