Thunder to Host First Annual Kids Night

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder will host its first annual "Kids Night", presented by the Midian Shriners and Channel 963 for their game on Sunday, March 1st against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs at 5:05 p.m.

All youth tickets for the late-afternoon contest can be purchased for just $5.00 with the purchase of a full-priced adult ticket. Each child will also receive a free ticket voucher to the Midian Shrine Circus, which will be held at the Coliseum from April 17th-19th. During the game, all children will have the opportunity to design their own posters and meet with Thunder mascot Thunderdog and Wichita Wingnuts' mascot Spinner the Squirrel. A parade of Shrine vehicles and units will take place between periods. Children can also enter to win a complimentary birthday party thrown by the Thunder and Wingnuts, the opportunity to drop the ceremonial first puck before a Thunder game, be a Thunder "stick boy for a game", and throw out the ceremonial first pitch for a Wingnuts game.

Fans will be able to bid on special game-worn Shriners jerseys on the lower east side level of the Coliseum during the game.

The Thunder next plays this Friday, opening a weekend series against the Mississippi Riverkings in Southaven, MS. Wichita returns home Wednesday, February 25th when they host the Tulsa Oilers at 7:05 p.m. at the Kansas Coliseum. Hot dogs will cost just $1.00 throughout the game, courtesy of Bar S Foods.
