Arizona Sundogs News Release

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs of the Central Hockey League announced Wednesday that they have added defenseman Tyler Scott to their lineup. In addition, the Sundogs have waived forward Andre Selander.

A former ninth round pick (268th overall) of the New York Islanders in 1999, Scott opened the 2008-09 season with the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL prior to joining the Sundogs. In 32 games this season with Bakersfield, the 28-year-old recorded two goals, six assists and 18 penalty minutes (PIM).

The fifth-year pro has spent parts of four seasons in the ECHL, first skating with the Dayton Bombers in 2004-05. Scott's best season came in 2006-07 when while with the Condors. In 66 games, the 6-foot, 200-pound defenseman tallied career-highs in goals (13), assists (18), points (31) and PIMs (68).

No stranger to the CHL, the Rockville, Maryland native appeared in 24 contests with the Tulsa Oilers in 2004-05, collecting four points (1g/3a) and four PIM.

Selander, 25, appeared in 48 games with the Sundogs, registering five goals, eight assists and 72 PIM.

Arizona (22-25-3) looks to strengthen their hold on the Southern Conference's fifth and final playoff spot this weekend as they host the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs (31-14-3) for two-straight at Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley. Friday's game is set for 7:05pm. Tickets start at just $14 and are available by phone at 1-866-4-GET-TIX (1-866-443-8849), online at www.gettix.net and in person at the Tim's Toyota Center Box Office.
