Wichita Thunder News Release

Wichita, KS (December 5th) - The Wichita Thunder of the Central Hockey League, powered by Toyota, will once again show its support for community members in need by helping ring bells at Salvation Army red kettles located at two separate Walmart locations on Tuesday, December 10th.

Thunder players will join Thunder Dog and the Freedom Advisory Group Dance Team at red kettles to help raise donations for this great cause. The players will be at Walmart locations at 21st St. and Maize Road from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Kellogg and Greenwich from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. They will be happy to sign autographs for the fans during these times.

"Donations to the red kettles help us meet the immediate needs of families and individuals during the holidays and also fund programs all year long. Last year, the Salvation Army touched the lives of nearly 50,000 individuals in the Wichita community," said Glen Caddy, Major and Wichita City Commander with The Salvation Army.

"We thank Wichita Thunder for supporting us at the red kettles," Caddy continued. "We also appreciate the support from the businesses that allow us to have our red kettles at their locations."

The Salvation Army still has opportunities for individuals to help ring bells and assist with other volunteer opportunities. Anyone interested can call 316.263.2769 or log onto www.missionofhope.salvationarmy.us.
