
Thunder Goes Pink VII Scheduled for November 2-4

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, a two time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," announced Thunder Goes Pink VII presented by St. Joseph's Medical Center in association with Union Bank and Food-4-Less and Rancho San Miguel Markets is scheduled for Friday through Sunday, Nov. 2-4 at Stockton Arena for three games against the Bakersfield Condors and Alaska Aces.
Pink weekend, featuring games on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 4:00 p.m., will once again promote breast cancer awareness, prevention and raise funds through the Thunder's signature promotional event. The Thunder will skate on pink ice in traditional pink themed jerseys, which will be available via raffle and silent auction. There will also be a live auction following Saturday's game for select Thunder game worn pink jerseys. Female fans in attendance (first 1,000 for Friday and Sunday and first 2,000 for Saturday) will receive a special pink tote bag.
For all Thunder Goes Pink games, fans can assist with fundraising through ticket sales, website, auction and merchandise purchases for the event which benefits St. Joseph's Foundation - Breast Health Services.
"Thunder Goes Pink has become a local tradition each November that fans throughout the Central Valley look forward to each hockey season," said Thunder president Dan Chapman. "In addition to it being a fun and unique promotion, it delivers a terrific message and raises needed funds for our beneficiary. We enjoy helping deliver that message each year."
Since the event began in 2006-07, Thunder Goes Pink has raised over $226,000 for breast cancer awareness and services while touching the lives of over 105,000 fans who have visited Stockton Arena.
Thunder Goes Pink will once again take to the streets on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. with the Thunder Goes Pink 5K Run/Walk presented by St. Joseph's Medical Center. Thunder players will help start off the race with a warm up in front of Stockton Arena at 8:45 a.m. on Fremont Street. After the race, all participants and their families are invited to watch the team's morning skate session at 10:00 a.m. The first 300 pre-registered participants will receive a complimentary Thunder game ticket, goodie bag and limited edition event t-shirt.
For each group ticket sold, $2 of each purchase will be donated to St. Joseph's Foundation - Breast Health Services. Group tickets, accommodating ten fans or more, can be purchased by e-mailing tickets@stocktonthunder.com or calling (209) 373-1500.
