Portland Sea Dogs News Release
The Trenton Thunder used a five-run sixth inning and Jeff Karstens (5-0) worked five and 2/3 innings, leading the Thunder to a 10-4 win over the Sea Dogs on Saturday night at Hadlock Field. Portland suffers their first three-game losing streak at home this season and fall to 3-8 against Trenton this season.
Frank Brooks (0-1) suffered the loss, allowing six hits, five runs (four earned) in five innings. The lefty allowed three home runs, including two solo homers in the second inning to Eric Duncan and Justin Christian.
Vince Faison blasted a two-run homer in the fifth inning off Brooks, giving Trenton a 5-2 advantage.
Jeremy West led Portland's 11-hit attack, going 2-for-4 with a home run and a triple. David Bacani added two hits and an RBI, Alberto Concepcion finished 3-for-4.
Jon Searles yielded five runs in 2/3 of an inning on three hits in the sixth. Edgar Martinez pitched two and 1/3 scoreless innings on two hits. Rusty Tucker made his Hadlock Field and pitched a perfect ninth.
