Thunder Adds Looby, Waives Keserich

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder made two transactions Thursday morning, signing defenseman Mike Looby and releasing goaltender Ian Keserich.
Looby (pronounced LOO-bee) scored nine goals and 38 total points for the Laredo Bucks last season. As a true rookie, the Brampton, Ontario native was also a member of the Bucks' 2006 President's Cup championship team. The 6-foot, 197-pound Looby has 99 points in 258 career games and attended training camp with the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators last month. Looby enters his sixth season of professional hockey and fifth in the CHL.
Keserich, one of two remaining players from last year's team, was 0-3-0 with a 4.03 goals against average and an .840 save percentage.
"There's some other teams out there in need of goaltending right now", said Thunder Head Coach Kevin McClelland. "I'm all about helping these guys find jobs, and with three good goaltenders on our team, I felt this move gives Ian a fair chance to continue his career."
The Thunder also placed defenseman and team captain Daniel Tetrault on the 10-Day IR.
