Bossier-Shreveport's Brian Foster Named Sher-Wood Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Month

TEMPE, AZ (November 4, 2010) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Brian Foster of the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs has been named the Sher-Wood Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Month for October/2010. Foster will receive a Sher-Wood/CHL logoed watch courtesy of Sher-Wood and the Central Hockey League to recognize his accomplishment.

Foster was assigned to the Mudbugs on October 15 from the Florida Panthers but was quickly recalled before he could play a game. Upon his return to Bossier-Shreveport, the Pembroke, New Hampshire native won all three of his starts allowing six goals. His 1.95 goals against average and .941 save percentage are both tied for fifth in the league. Two of the 6-2, 175-pound net minder's wins came on the road, a 4-2 win in Texas and a 6-3 win in Allen, while his other victory came in a shootout over Rio Grande Valley.
The former University of New Hampshire star was a fifth round selection of the Panthers in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft (161st overall pick). He combined to go 36-25-11 with three shutouts over his junior and senior seasons. His strong play this season, his rookie year, has the Mudbugs in first place in the Berry Conference.
Other players receiving consideration for the monthly award for October include Allen's Chris Whitley, Bloomington's Marco Emond, Bossier-Shreveport's Jeff Harvey, Colorado's Kyle Jones, Dayton's Jeff Jakaitis, Quad City's David Brown, Rio Grande Valley's Juliano Pagliero and Tulsa's Trevor Cann.
