BRADENTON, Fl - Despite out-hitting the Bradenton Marauders 10-8, the Clearwater Threshers dropped a second straight contest 8-1 in game four of the six-game series on Friday night at LECOM Park.

Left-hander Jordi Martinez made the start on the mound for Clearwater and ran into trouble early, allowing six runs, three earned on five hits - including two homers - in three innings of work.

The Marauders (25-30) scored in each of the first four innings and built an 8-0 lead midway through the game.

After right-handers Victor Lopez and Carlos Betancourt worked five combined innings of relief, the Threshers (28-26) got on the board in the top of the ninth on a solo home run from Jadiel Sanchez. The long ball to right field was the sixth of the season for Sanchez and the first Clearwater run in 17.1 innings.

While the Threshers had opportunities early, the visitors went on to leave 23 runners on base in a second consecutive loss.

Clearwater and Bradenton are set to meet again on Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. Right-hander Jean Cabrera (0-2, 5.74 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Threshers, with coverage on the Threshers Broadcasting Network beginning at 6:20 p.m.
