Three Tampa Yankees Selected to 2012 North FSL All-Star Team

TAMPA, FL. - The Florida State League announced today the league selection for the 2012 North and South All-Star Teams. The All-Star Game will be played at Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte, Saturday, June 16 at 7:05 p.m.

Tampa Yankees Pitcher Mark Montgomery, Catcher JR Murphy, and Outfielder Rob Segedin were selected to represent the Tampa Yankees for the North Division Team.

Mark Montgomery was selected in the 11th round of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft. He has been with the Tampa Yankees since the start of the 2012 regular season and has pitched 26 and two third innings going 4-1 with eight saves and holds a 1.35 ERA. In 19 games he has given up 14 hits, four earned runs, nine walks, and has struck out 43 batters.

JR Murphy was selected by the Yankees in the second round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft. He played in 23 games for Tampa in 2011 and 45 games so far this season. He has a batting average of .234 in 175 at-bats. He has 41 hits, 23 runs, seven doubles, one triple, two homeruns and 19 RBI.

Rob Segedin was selected by the Yankees in the third round of the 2010 First-Year Player Draft. Segedin also played a portion of the 2011 season with Tampa and has played in 52 games this season. In his 209 at-bats he holds a .287 batting average. He's recorded 60 hits, 34 runs, 16 doubles, six homeruns and 30 RBI. He has eight stolen bases and has never been caught stealing.
