Three Sharks Earn First Team All-NAL Defensive Honors

JACKSONVILLE- The National Arena League released the First and Second Team All-NAL Defensive Honors. This season five players from the Sharks defense finds themselves on this list after a very successful season. Three Sharks including defensive lineman Jermiah Price, linebacker Silverberry Mouhon, and defensive Back Marvin Ross earned First Team honors while defensive lineman Damien Jacobs and linebacker Charlie Hunt earned Second Team All-NAL honors.

First Team All-NAL

Jermiah Price, Defensive Lineman: This season was Jermiah Price's second season with Jacksonville. Last year, he earned First Team All-NAL. This year, he had a repeat season. This year, he racked up 29 total tackles (18 solo) (22 assists) (18.5 for a loss), 16.5 sacks, one interception, three pass breakups, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and a total of five blocked kicks. Price also earned Defensive Player of the Week in Week Eight of the 2018 NAL Regular Season.

Silverberry Mouhon, Mac Linebacker: Silverberry Mouhon started the 2018 season a little later than the rest of the team, but that was no issue, as he still found a way to climb to the top and be the best Mac Linebacker in the NAL. This season, Mouhon made 22.5 total tackles (14 solo) (17 assists) (six for a loss), seven sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery for a 13 yard touchdown

Marvin Ross, Defensive Back: Marvin Ross continues to prove to everybody that he is one of the best defensive backs in arena football, as he earns First Team All-NAL once again. This year, he made an incredible 47 total tackles (40 solo) (14 assists) (one for a loss), nine interceptions for five yards, and a total of 19 pass breakups. In Week 17 of the 2018 NAL Regular Season, Ross earned Defensive Player of the Week.

Second Team All-NAL

Damien Jacobs, Defensive Lineman: The second Sharks defensive lineman marks his name on the All-NAL awards. Jacobs, playing for the Sharks for his second year, earned Second Team All-NAL by recording 15.5 total tackles (nine solo) (13 assists) (four for a loss), five sacks, two pass breakups, two interceptions, one forced fumble, four fumble recoveries, one blocked kick, and forced one safety.

Charlie Hunt, Jack Linebacker: Charlie Hunt has his name called to be the second linebacker on the Sharks to be on the All-NAL awards list. This year, Hunt only played 10 games due to an injury in the beginning and toward the middle of the season, but still made 33.5 total tackles (25 solo) (17 assists) (three for a loss), one sack, four interceptions for 93 yards, three pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. In Week One against the Carolina Cobras, Hunt earned Defensive Player of the Week.

Tomorrow, the league will announce it's 2018 All-NAL Offense and Shark Nation expects to see some big names from the Sharks roster to appear.
