Rapid City Rush News Release

(Wichita, KS) - Playing their third game in as many days and traveling overnight from Rapid City to Wichita didn't slow the Rush who grinded out a 3-1 win over the Thunder at Intrust Bank Arena on Saturday. Rapid City's offense was fueled by Konrad Reeder and Shawn Limpright who posted a goal and two assists each while former Thunder goaltender Tim Boron turned aside 32 shots for his eleventh win of the season. The Rush have now gone 5-1-2 over their last eight road games and have earned points in a season-high five straight. The squad plays the final game of the current trip on Tuesday against the Quad City Mallards and the game can be heard live on 100.3 the FOX.

The Thunder hopped on the board at 3:58 of the second period on a goal from leading point-getter Alex Bourret who capitalized on a breakaway for his 16th marker of the season.

It took until the 7:48 mark of the third period, but the Rush responded when Shawn Limpright set up Collin Circelli for a breakaway of his own, burying a shot to the top-left corner. With just two-and-a-half minutes remaining in regulation, Konrad Reeder tapped home a rebound from the side of the net to give the Rush their first lead of the game. Finally, Shawn Limpright added an empty-net goal for his 22nd of the year, tying him with Reeder for the team lead and giving the Rush the 3-1 win.
