Trenton Thunder News Release

The Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced Thursday that pitchers Mikey O'Brien (RHP), Matt Daley (RHP) and Fred Lewis (LHP) have been promoted to the team from High-A Tampa.

Right-handed starting pitcher Caleb Cotham has been promoted to Triple-A Scranton and lefty reliever Josh Romanski has been placed on the disabled list with a sore right knee. Additionally, lefty Shaeffer Hall has been released from the organization.

O'Brien is slated to start Friday night's game against New Hampshire. He rejoins the team after making 19 starts (20 appearances) for the Thunder in 2012, going 5-7 with a 4.20 ERA in 105 innings of work. He made six starts with Tampa this season and went 1-2 with a 4.39 ERA.

Daley and Lewis are expected to join the Trenton bullpen. Daley pitched parts of three seasons in the Major Leagues for the Colorado Rockies (2009-2011), but underwent right shoulder surgery and missed the entire 2012 season.

Lewis, a 47th round draft choice by the Yankees in 2010 from Tennessee Wesleyan, made eighth appearances with Tampa this season and went 0-0 with a 3.86 ERA.

Hall, Trenton's opening-night starting pitcher in 2012, made 64 career appearances for the Thunder (52 starts) and compiled a 22-18 record. He worked out of the bullpen this season and went 3-0 in ten games with a 3.32 ERA. Hall's 22 career wins place him fifth in team history, while his 52 games started is sixth most all time. His 334 innings pitched is fourth-most in team history.

Cotham made six starts for the Thunder this season and went 1-1 with a 3.96 ERA. He is expected to start tonight for Scranton against Indianapolis.
