ORLANDO, Fla. - The National Women's Soccer League announced today the 11 players named to the Best XI of the Month, presented by Mastercard, for the month of August by the NWSL Media Association and the NWSL's on-air broadcast talent. The Orlando Pride led the way with three players honored on the list, including forward Messiah Bright, and defenders Kerry Abello and Kylie Strom.

Abello, 23, recorded the second assist of her career in the Pride's final Challenge Cup match against Gotham FC and recorded 27 won possessions and 67 completed passes across four matches.

Strom's defensive impact was on display in the Orlando Pride's four matches in August, with the 31-year-old recording 26 possessions won, including 12 in Orlando's final Challenge Cup match against Gotham FC.

Six teams are represented in the league's Top 11, including three selections from the Kansas City Current and Pride, two players from Portland Thorns FC and one each from the Chicago Red Stars, NJ/NY Gotham FC and San Diego Wave FC.
