
Three Mooseheads ranked by NHL Central Scouting

Three members of the Halifax Mooseheads have made the NHL Central Scouting Mid Term Rankings released this weekend.
Mooseheads' forwards Frederik Cabana and Jan Steber, along with goaltender Jason Churchill have received high rankings for this year's NHL entry draft, which will be held June 25 â 27 at Raleigh, NC.
Cabana, born May 16, 1986, is listed in round two, 45 overall by NHL Central Scouting. The 6'01", 185 lb. forward, drafted in round 3 (33) at the 2002 QMJHL entry draft by the Mooseheads, has 11 goals, 15 assists in 46 games with Halifax this season.
Steber, born Oct. 19, 1985, a 6'03", 195 lb. forward, is listed as a round three, 80 overall, pick by NHL Central Scouting. Steber has 11 goals, 12 assists in 45 games with Halifax this season.
Churchill, born Nov. 05, 1985, ranks 17 among domestic goaltenders. In 34 appearances with Halifax this season, the 6'04", 190 lb. goaltender has a record of 11-17-2, with 2 shutouts and a goals-against-average of 3.53.
"We are very pleased to see these players recognized for their fine play," Patenaude said. "It is a confirmation that we are on the right track in developing our young hockey players. These three players have played an important role with the Mooseheads this season.
In addition, 6'4.5", 210 lbs. defenceman Kyle Koziera, drafted in round 14 (225) of the 2003 QMJHL draft by Halifax and on the Mooseheads' protected list, is listed in round four, 116 overall by Central Scouting. Koziera is currently playing with Cushing High School in the U.S.A.
