JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Mississippi Braves (25-23) hit three home runs on Saturday night to beat the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (19-29, 47-69) 6-4 and even the five-game series at 2-2. The M-Braves have hit eight homers over the first four games of the series and the clubs have combined for 14 after four were hit on Saturday.

Mississippi continues their weekend success, improving to 14-5 on Saturday's and overall 23-11 on the weekend.

Travis Demeritte handed M-Braves starting pitcher Kyle Muller (W, 2-0) a 1-0 lead with his third home run in three days and 15th on the season in the top of the second inning. The homer off of Jacksonville starter Cody Poteet (L, 2-10) traveled 438-feet to left field.

The Braves increased the lead to 5-0 in the fourth inning on a pair of two-run home runs from Tyler Marlette and Connor Lien. Marlette's homer was his second on the road trip and 12th on the season. Lien, the Orlando native hit his third in two days since being activated from the disabled list on Friday and seventh overall this season.

Muller, Atlanta's second-round pick in 2016 and 44th overall selection cruised through the first three innings, striking out two in the first, three in the second and two in the third. Muller struck out two more in the fourth inning, but walked Joe Dunand and plunked John Silviano to put two runners on base. After the Dallas native's ninth strikeout, Rodrigo Vigil hit a three-run homer to left bringing Jacksonville within two and 5-3.

Muller left the game after recording the first two outs and 102 pitches (62 strikes) in the sixth inning, including his 10th strikeout in his second Double-A start. Over 5.2 innings, Muller gave up three runs on four hits with two walks and 10 strikeouts, the second double-digit strikeout performance of his career. Muller struck out 12 on July 9 at Daytona.

Mississippi shortstop Ray-Patrick Didder extended the lead to 6-3 with an RBI single in the sixth inning. Didder has reached base safely in 25 of his first 27 games.

New M-Braves reliever Justin Kelly pitched a scoreless 1.1 behind Muller to preserve the 6-3 lead through seven innings. Jason Hursh (S, 2) pitched a scoreless eighth, before surrendering one run in the ninth, but securing his second M-Braves save.

Demeritte finished the night 2-for-3 with a homer, single, two walks and two runs scored. Demeritte has scored eight runs over his last three games. Lien was 1-for-2 with a homer, walk and hit by pitch.

The rubber match of the five-game series between the Jumbo Shrimp and M-Braves will be on Sunday afternoon at The Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. RHP Ian Anderson (0-0, --) will make his Double-A debutt for the Braves against RHP Max Duval (2-11, 7.46) for Jacksonville. First pitch is set for 2:05 pm CT with coverage beginning at 1:50 pm CT on 103.9 WYAB and the free TuneIn Radio App.
