Three Former Gamblers Named to CCHA All-Conference Team

(Green Bay, WI) On Thursday, March 14th the Central Collegiate Hockey Association named former Green Bay Gamblers forwards Austin Czarnik and Anders Lee to the First Team All-Conference and former defenseman Bobby Shea to the Second Team All-Conference.

Czarnik played with the Green Bay Gamblers under head coach Eric Rud. During Czarnik's 2010-11 campaign, the Washington, Michigan native tallied 20 goals and 14 assists in 46 games. Czarnik played the 2009-10 season with Team USA in USHL. In 26 games, Czarnik scored 10 goals and 18 assists. Czarnik, who tied for the most first-place votes with eight, finished the season in fourth place in both conference scoring 26 points(8 goal, 18 assists) and overall scoring 33 points (11 goals, 22 assists).

Lee was the leading scorer for the Gamblers during the 2009-10 season tallying 66 points (35 goals, 31 assists) under head coach Jon Cooper in route to the franchise winning the Clark Cup Championship. The Edina, Minnesota native finished with a league-best +18 in conference action while placing second in the goal-scoring race with 14 conference goals and 18 overall tallies with Notre Dame in his junior year.

In two seasons with the Gamblers (2007-2009), Shea racked up 289 penalty minutes to go with 6 goals and 11 assists. With Bowling Green this past season, Shea led all defensemen in the CCHA with 15 assists and a +14 rating.

The Green Bay Gamblers are one point from clinching a spot in the Clark Cup playoffs for the fifth consecutive season with three games coming up the weekend. On Friday, March 22 the Gamblers welcome the Sioux City Musketeers to the Resch Center. Face-off is set for 7:05pm. On Saturday, March 23rd, the Gamblers travel to Cedar Rapids to take on the RoughRiders before returning to the Resch Center on Sunday, March 24th with an early afternoon game against the Fargo Force.
