Houston Dynamo FC News Release

HOUSTON - Houston Dynamo FC midfielder Coco Carrasquilla, goalkeeper Steve Clark, defender Tim Parker and head coach Paulo Nagamura were named to the MLSSoccer.com Team of the Week this afternoon.

Nagamura earns his first MLSSoccer.com Team of the Week honor as a coach and this is the first time a Dynamo head coach has been named to the team since Week 9 of the 2020 regular season. The 39-year-old is the first Dynamo head coach to defeat LAFC and has led the Dynamo to additional milestones this season. Houston has earned the most points on the road in a single campaign since 2018. Houston looks to add to that tally on Sunday against Seattle Sounders FC.

This is the second MLSSoccer.com Team of the Week honor for Carrasquilla, who was named to the team after he scored the opening goal of Houston's 2-0 victory over Nashville SC in week 11. Carrasquilla created five chances against LAFC and led the team with nine recoveries.

Clark was named the Man of the Match after finishing with six saves against LAFC. The Dynamo shot stopper was also named to the Team of the Week in May after a 3-0 victory on the road against the LA Galaxy.

Parker was the most recent player named to the Team of the Week after he led the Dynamo to a 2-1 victory in San Jose on July 17. Similar to his performance in San Jose, the Dynamo captain finished with a goal line clearance, this time denying LAFC forward Gareth Bale in the second half. Parker led the team with 11 clearances against LAFC on Wednesday and finished with four recoveries.

The Dynamo travel to Lumen Field on Sunday for their third game in nine days when they face Seattle Sounders FC at 6 p.m. CDT. The match will air live in English on AT&T SportsNet Southwest and in Spanish on TeleXitos 47.2
