
Three Draft Picks Sign

Montreal, May 22, 2009 - Montreal Alouettes' Vice President and General Manager Jim Popp announced today that guard Matt Singer and defensive ends Stan van Sichem and Ivan Brown - all three selected in the 2009 CFL Canadian Draft - have signed contracts and will be expected at training camp this June.
Singer (6'2'', 327 lbs) has signed for three years plus an option after being selected in the second round, 15th overall. He started seven games at guard and one at centre for the Manitoba Bisons in 2008 and was part of an offensive line that led the Canada West Conference with just 10 sacks allowed. He won the 2007 Vanier Cup with the Bisons. He is 24.
van Sichem (6'2'', 229 lbs) has also signed for three years plus an option after being drafted in the fourth round, 25th overall. He played eight games with the Regina Rams in 2008, registering 32 tackles and three sacks en route to setting a school record with 30 career sacks. He is 22.
Brown (6'2'', 240 lbs) has signed for two years plus an option after being chosen in the fourth round, 31st overall. A top-notch special teams player, he played eight games with the Saskatchewan Huskies in 2008, finishing sixth in the CIS and second in the Canada West Conference with seven sacks. He also registered 36 tackles, two knockdowns and a forced fumble. He is 23.
The Alouettes' training camp will begin this June 7 at the Campus du Fort St-Jean in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.
