Club Deportivo Chivas USA News Release

Carson, CA. (Friday, September 30, 2011) - Chivas USA announced today that three of its players have received calls from national teams for upcoming official FIFA matches. Goats' defender Ante Jazic (Canada), defender Michael Umaña (Costa Rica), and forward Alejandro Moreno (Venezuela) will each potentially see activity in the following calendar of games.

Chivas USA Head Coach Robin Fraser commented on Umaña, Moreno, and Jazic call ups: "If you look at the last couple of months and you think about how well those players have done, certainly they've earned their spots and they keep earning their call-ups. I think it's great for them and it shows that people are paying attention. When they play well and play with great intensity and focus, as they have, they produce. So those are three players who've done very well for us over the last couple months and it's fitting that they would get national team calls."

Ante Jazic - Canada National Team. This is Jazic's second call up this year to his national team as they go into second round of FIFA World Cup Qualifying. This will be the second time the Canadian squad faces both of these countries in the last two months where Canada defeated St. Lucia 4-1 and Puerto Rico 3-0.

* Costa Rica vs. Brazil - San Jose, Costa Rica Oct. 7, 2011

Alejandro Moreno - Venezuelan National Team. This represents Moreno's third call up so far this year for La Vinotinto, in which Venezuela has played at one of its highest levels in recent history. These matches are specifically important as they represent qualifying for Brazil 2014. Venezuela's all time record against Ecuador is 6-1-7 and versus Argentina 0-0-10.
