SANDY, Utah (Friday, September 30, 2011) - Real Salt Lake (15-9-6, 51 pts.; 3rd in West) will look to put an end to its two-game skid tomorrow night, Saturday, October 1 against the LA Galaxy (17-3-10, 61 pts.; 1st in West) when it kicks off a three game road trip in Carson, California. Kick off at The Home Depot Center is set for 8:30 p.m. MT for a contest that will be televised live on KMYU 2.2 (Comcast 22 / Dish Network 12) and can be heard on Rock 99.1 (English) and Juan 1600-AM (Spanish).

In addition, RSL fanatics are invited to join up to view the game at any of the Official ESPN 700 Watch Parties for Real Salt Lake, taking place at all six 'Bout Time Pub & Grub locations across the Salt Lake valley.

RSL "Game Note" of the Match: What a Deference a Week Makes Real Salt Lake's 3-1 victory on September 21 at New York allowed RSL to equal its all-time high for wins in a season (15), matching its 2010 total; it also gave RSL a new standard for road wins (5) in a season, surpassing the four away victories claimed in 2010 and 2006 ...

The three goals in the first 21 minutes marked the fastest start to a 3-0 lead, surpassing the trio of first-half goals scored in 30 minutes on July 23, 2005 (v DAL) and in 41 minutes on March 26, 2011 (v LA) ... That night at Red Bull Arena marked the first time EVER that RSL scored three goals in a half on the road ...

And for 48 minutes against the Red Bulls, prior to the 69' consolation score by New York's Joel Lindpere, RSL saw its all-time club goal differential stand at EVEN ... An amazing accomplishment, considering the seven-year old club was -39 its first two seasons and -45 prior to the Jason Kreis coaching era ... Since the 2nd Fabian Espindola goal gave RSL a 3-0 first-half lead, Jason Kreis has seen his Claret-and-Cobalt side outscored 1-8, with only a late Alvaro Saborio score at D.C. find the back of the net ... In 214 all-time MLS matches, RSL has now scored 276 goals, while allowing 283 ...

RSL History v. LA Galaxy

Over the course of RSL's 18-game history against the Galaxy, it has been incredibly even between the two sides that have proven to be MLS Cup contenders year in and year out... While the regular season series is split down the middle at 7-6-6, the Claret-and-Cobalt has the overall edge on the Galaxy thanks to defeating the Galaxy in the 2009 MLS Cup, which was the lone postseason meeting between the two sides... The Galaxy own the series record at home, going 5-3-1 against RSL at the Home Depot Center, with a 13 to 14 edge in goal differential in Carson, CA... The two sides met at Rio Tinto Stadium back on March 26 when the Claret-and-Cobalt jumped out to an early lead in the 2nd minute and never looked back. RSL would go on to win the contest 4-1 thanks to goals from Andy Williams, Paulo Jr. and a brace from Javier Morales...
