(Newark, N.J.) - The Newark Bears return home on Tuesday, August 17 and continue the hunt for the second-half Freedom Division Championship. The Bears will play a three-game series against division rival the Lancaster Barnstormers.
The Bears are coming off a magical home stand last week that produced three-straight walk-off wins. Come out and cheer this week and enjoy these exciting promotions:
Tuesday, August 17th, 11:05 a.m. vs. Lancaster (10:05 gates) - *The Bears open a three game series with the Lancaster Barnstormers with a Tuesday morning tilt. The Bears will host "Camp Day" as campers from around the New Jersey area descend on Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium. Prior to the game, the Bears and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service are hosting a special Naturalization Ceremony to recognize the newest citizens of the United States. Tuesday is also "Silver Sluggers Day", a program presented by Healthfirst Health Plan of New Jersey for seniors, ages 55 and older. The "sluggers" will receive discounted ticket rates to select afternoon baseball games. Fans of all ages will enjoy great morning baseball!
Wednesday, August 18th, 6:35 p.m. vs. Lancaster (5:35 gates) - *The Bears and 'Stormers continue the three-game set on Wednesday evening in Newark. Wednesday night is "Kids Eat Free," presented by Dr. Thomas Haveron. All kids 12 and under (with a paid adult) get to eat free at all concession stands throughout the ballpark.
Thursday, August 19th, 6:35 p.m. vs. Lancaster (5:35 gates) - *Newark and Lancaster play the series finale on Thursday night at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium. Thursday night means "Thirsty Thursday," presented by Budweiser and Pepsi. Fans will get discounts on beer and soft drinks all evening long, so come on out and cheer on your Bears!
