Three 66ers Particpating in NBA D-League Elite Mini Camp

TULSA, Okla., May 13, 2013 - Tulsa 66ers players Dominique Sutton, Tony Taylor and Hollis Thompson will compete in the NBA Development League's fourth annual Elite Mini Camp today and tomorrow, the NBA D-League announced today. Held at the Quest Multisports Gym in Chicago, the camp features top 2012-13 NBA D-League prospects, giving players the opportunity to display their skills and be evaluated by NBA team personnel.

In addition to the trio of 66ers players, Tulsa assistant coach Tyrone Ellis will be one of nine NBA D-League coaches running the drills and exercises.

The two-day event features both drill work and full-court games for players to most accurately showcase their talents. NBA front office executives and scouts are expected to be on hand to evaluate the talent, as NBA teams look to fill Summer League and training camp rosters.

Sutton (6-5, 209, North Carolina Central) averaged 10.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.6 steals, 1.5 assists and 27.8 minutes in 48 games. The forward started in 29 games, the second most of any 66er. An All-Rookie Second Team selection, Sutton scored in double figures 25 times and led Tulsa with 10 double-doubles.

Taylor (6-1, 191, George Washington) averaged 7.0 points, 3.2 assists, 1.7 rebounds and 22.5 minutes in 50 games (24 starts). The guard was the only Tulsa player to see action in all 50 games. An All-Rookie Third Team selection, Taylor scored in double figures 14 times and led Tulsa in assists on 10 occasions.

Thompson (6-8, 212, Georgetown) averaged 8.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 20.0 minutes in 48 games (10 starts). The forward scored in double figures on 16 occasions and led Tulsa in rebounds four times, including a career-best 14 against Maine on Jan. 8.
