Chicago Wolves News Release

The Atlanta Thrashers have recalled center JASON KROG, the American Hockey League's leading scorer, from the Chicago Wolves.

Prior to his recall, KROG paced the AHL with 33 assists and 52 points - the most by a Wolves player through 26 games in franchise history - and shared third with 19 goals.

The 31-year-old forward has notched at least one point in all 25 games he has appeared in for Chicago this year, the second-longest streak in the AHL this season behind teammate DARREN HAYDAR's 26-game run.

The Fernie, British Columbia, native has appeared in one game with the Thrashers this year, scoring a goal in his first National Hockey League shift since the end of the 2003-04 season, in Atlanta's 3-2 overtime loss to Tampa Bay on Nov. 24.

He was awarded the AHL Milestone of the Month Award for November after posting a league-season high seven points (3G, 4A) on Nov. 4 against the Peoria Rivermen, which included his second hat trick of the year and a team-season high four assists. That night, he became the first AHL player in nearly eight years to record seven points in a single game and fell one point shy of matching a single-game franchise record.

KROG has earned 53 points (19G, 34A) in 176 career NHL games with the New York Islanders, Anaheim Ducks and Thrashers. He posted three goals and four points in 21 postseason contests in 2003 to help Anaheim reach the Stanley Cup Finals.
