Penguins sign Ryan Glenn to PTO

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have signed defenseman Ryan Glenn to a professional tryout contract, it was announced on Tuesday.

Glenn, 26, is in his third season of professional hockey. The 6-2, 209 pound native of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia spent 15 games with the Providence Bruins (AHL) this season, recording six points (3+3) and 27 penalty minutes.

Glenn split last year between Milwaukee, Syracuse and Lowell in the American Hockey League, while also suiting up for the ECHL's Charlotte Checkers. He combined for seven points (1+6) and 31 penalty minutes in 34 AHL games and recorded nine assists and 26 penalty minutes in 26 contests with the Checkers.

A former fifth round pick (145th overall) of the Montreal Canadiens in 2000, Glenn appeared in 61 games with Charlotte in 2004-05, posting 28 points (9+19), while going scoreless in 14 contests with the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack.

Glenn spent four seasons at St. Lawrence University (ECAC), combining for 56 points (18+38) and 170 penalty minutes in 145 games with the Saints.
