The Atlanta Thrashers have recalled defenseman BORIS VALABIK (VA-lah-bik) from his conditioning stint with the Chicago Wolves.
VALABIK appeared in six games during his stint with Chicago, collecting 10 penalty minutes. The 10th overall pick in the 2004 National Hockey League Entry Draft has appeared in 57 career NHL contests for Atlanta, accruing five assists and 174 penalty minutes, spanning two seasons (2007-09). He has not appeared in any games with the Thrashers this year.
The 23-year-old blueliner has recorded 16 assists, 20 points and 434 penalty minutes in 125 career games with the Wolves (2006-09). His 444 penalty minutes rank eighth in franchise history.
The Nitra, Slovakia native, also skated in 32 playoff tilts with the Wolves, posting five points (3G, 2A) and 108 penalty minutes, which includes three goals and four points in 24 matchups en route to helping Chicago capture the 2008 Calder Cup.
The Wolves next action will come on Wednesday, when they visit the Rockford IceHogs at the Rockford MetroCentre at 7 p.m.
