RHP Jake Thompson tossed seven shutout innings and the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (50-37) blanked the Rochester Red Wings (50-38) by a score of 2-0 on Wednesday night at Coca-Cola Park.

Thompson (7-5) surrendered three hits to go along with two walks and three strikeouts in his 7.0 IP. On major league rehab assignments, LHP Daniel Stumpf (1.0 IP, H, K) and RHP Andrew Bailey (1.0 IP, 2 K) combined to get the final six outs for manager Dave Brundage's squad. Bailey notched his first save of the season.

The IronPigs got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the third to take a 1-0 lead as J.P. Crawford (3-4, R) led off with a single, advanced to second on a single, to third on a groundout and scored on Brock Stassi's RBI groundout.

In the bottom of the sixth, Andrew Knapp (2-3, 2B, R) led off with a double and scored on Stassi's (2-4, 2B, 2 RBI) RBI single to knock home an insurance run and give the Pigs a 2-0 advantage.

Rochester starter Jason Wheeler (6-2) gave up the two runs on nine hits while walking two and fanning six over six innings of work.

The series wraps up on Thursday at 7:05 p.m. as RHP David Buchanan (4-5, 4.77) gets the ball for the IronPigs against Red Wings LHP Pat Dean (2-5, 4.25).
