
Pigs Begin Series with Rochester

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will look for their second straight win when they open a brief two-game set with the Rochester Red Wings on Wednesday night. First pitch from Coca-Cola Park is slated for 7:05 p.m.
RHP Jake Thompson (6-5, 2.76) gets the ball for the Pigs in the series opener on Wednesday night. The Dallas native got a no-decision on Friday vs. Charlotte when he allowed one run on six hits while walking two and fanning six in seven innings of work. Over his last six starts, Thompson is 3-0 with a 1.29 ERA.
LHP Jason Wheeler (6-1, 2.79) will be on the bump for the Red Wings. Wheeler got a no-decision on Friday vs. Syracuse after giving up three runs on five hits to go along with three walks and six strikeouts in 5.2 IP. With runners in scoring position this season, the southpaw has held opponents to a .212 average (11-52).
Pigs OF Nick Williams has hit safely in his last seven games and 18 of his last 19 affairs. During his last seven, the 22-year-old is hitting .323-1-5 (10-31, 3 2B, 4 R).
Wednesday is a TD Bank Dog Day and fans can purchase tickets for their four-legged companions for just $1 with 100% of the proceeds benefiting a local canine non-profit organization. Fans that are planning on bringing their canine must purchase a General Admission ticket and will have access to the Capital BlueCross Lawn seating area.
