
Thomas Assigned to P-Bruins, Wilde Signed

Providence Bruins News Release
The Providence Bruins announced today that goaltender Tim Thomas has been assigned to the team by the Boston Bruins. Thomas, 29, was 18-12-5 with a 2.87 GAA in 35 games with Providence last season. The P-Bruins also announced that they have signed defensemen Martin Wilde and Dan Watson to professional tryout contracts. Wilde played with MoDo in his native Sweden last year after spending the 2001-02 season with Providence. He had 2-9-11 totals and 46 PIM in 71 games with the Bruins that year, as well as a team-high +10 rating. Watson tallied 4-11-15 totals and 48 PIM last year, as he split the season in the AHL with the Syracuse Crunch and Cleveland Barons.
The Bruins open up their 12th season in the AHL on Friday, October 10 at 7:05 p.m., when they host the Springfield Falcons. All fans in attendance will receive a free Providence Bruins magnet schedule, courtesy of Shaw's Supermarkets.
