Cleveland Force News Release


FORCE STREAKS:

Defender Hector Marinaro has recorded at least a block in 11 straight games. In addition, Marinaro has scored at least a point in 61 of the last 62 games.

Rookie forward Adauto Neto has scored a goal in each of his first six game this season. Neto leads the team in scoring with nine points.

STREAK HALTED:

Forward Ato Leone has his consecutive games played streak snapped at 41 games last Friday when he was sidelined with an ankle injury. Leone had played in the first five games this season after playing in all 36 games for the Harrisburg Heat a year ago.

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME:

After playing five of their first six games on the road, the Force will return home to the friendly confines of the Convocation Center at Cleveland State University for its next three games. Cleveland will also play four of its next six games at the Convo. The Force played their lone home game this season on November 1st when the team defeated the Milwaukee Wave by a final score of 10-6. In the four games at the Convocation Center, Cleveland will host two Eastern Division and two Western Division opponents.

BORDER WAR:

The Force will have their first MISL Border War this weekend when the team will play host to the Monterrey Fury for the first time ever. The Fury, an MISL expansion team, will make their first trip to the Convocation Center as well mark the first international showdown of the season between the team from Mexico and the Force. The last time the Cleveland franchise faced a team outside of the United States was on November 25, 2000 when the Crunch defeated the Toronto Thuderhawks by a final score of 16-15.

TIME CHANGE:

The Cleveland Force Coach's Show will be moving to a new time slot. Fans can catch the show from 7:00-8:00 p.m. on Sports Talk 850 AM WKNR starting on Thursday, November 27th.

The Force Coach's Show will air at its normal time this week from 9:00-10:00 p.m. on WKNR as Head Coach Andy Schmetzer and a Force player will join Al Pawlowski.

WESTWARD BOUND:

The game with Monterrey will mark the third meeting of the season between the Force and the Western Division. Cleveland has posted a record of 2-0 against the West this season with road victories over the Dallas Sidekicks and the San Diego Sockers. In the two games against Western Division opponents, the Force has outscored their opponents 9-7 but has been out shot 48-46. In addition, Cleveland has recorded 24 saves to 22 saves by Western Division foes.

POST-GAME HEADQUARTERS:

The Cleveland Hilton Garden Inn and Harvey's Bar is the official post game party headquarters of the Cleveland Force. After every home game, Force players will be in attendance to talk with fans as well as sign autographs. The Hilton Garden Inn is located at 1100 Carnegie Avenue between the Convocation Center at CSU and Jacobs Field. The Force players will arrive 30-45 minutes after the conclusion of the game.

Directions to the Force Fitness Indoor Soccer Facility in Warrensville Heights: The facility is located across from Thistledown Race Track on Northfield Road.

>From the West: Take Route 480 East to Northfield Road Exit and take a left on Northfield. The soccer center will be a mile and half down on your right-hand side.

>From the East: Take 480 West to the Miles Road Exit and take a right onto Miles. Proceed to Northfield Road and take a right; the practice center will be a mile down on the right.

FORCE RADIO NETWORK:

Cleveland Force fans will be able to follow the club all season long on the Force Radio Network. All thirty-six regular season games, as well as all playoff games will be aired. The flagship station for Force soccer is Sports Talk 850 AM WKNR. Any preempted broadcasts will be covered by sister station WHK 1220 AM.
