Training Camp Set to Open Tuesday, August 25
Everett Silvertips Vice President / General Manager Doug Soetaert revealed the details of the club's training camp Thursday afternoon. The organization's seventh training camp, under the direction of Soetaert and new Head Coach Craig Hartsburg, will begin with meetings and weigh-ins on Tuesday, August 25th, and will conclude with the annual Green-Grey game, held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 29th.
The first on-ice sessions will be held on Wednesday, August 26th, and will feature four teams comprised of a combination of returning roster players, current listed players and tryouts. Unlike previous seasons, there will not be a separate rookie camp preceding training camp this year.
From Wednesday through Friday, the club's afternoon training camp scrimmages will be open to the public. These open scrimmages will be held at 3:00 and 4:30 pm, and fans expecting to attend should enter the arena through the main entrance at the corner of Hewitt and Oakes in downtown Everett. Doors will open at 2:55 pm.
The culmination of training camp will be the annual Green-Grey game, which will take part at 3:00 pm on Saturday afternoon. While the event is free, Silvertip fans are kindly asked to make a non-perishable food donation into the collection bins upon entering the arena to benefit the Volunteers of America Food Bank.
Following training camp, the Silvertips will play host to the sixth annual Everett Silvertips Preseason Tournament, held at Comcast Arena from Friday September 4th through Sunday, September 6th, and featuring the Seattle Thunderbirds, Spokane Chiefs, Prince George Cougars, Tri-City Americans and Portland Winterhawks in addition to the Silvertips. Tournament packages and single-game tournament tickets are available by calling the Silvertips offices at (425) 252- 5100.
Reebok Edge Jerseys Set for September 9 Launch
Everett Silvertips Vice President / General Manager Doug Soetaert announced Tuesday that the new NHL-style Reebok Edge jerseys will be unveiled at Silvertips.com on September 9th in a national launch in conjunction with the rest of the Western Hockey League.
The jerseys and socks, which are tighter fitting and less water absorbent, allow for more flexibility and greater maneuverability on the ice. The original Reebok Edge Jerseys debuted at the NHL All-Star Game in 2007 and were implemented league-wide in the NHL for the 2007-08 season.
Only the home and away jerseys will be showcased on the club's website. The Silvertips, along with the rest of the Western Hockey League, will not be wearing alternate jerseys in 2009-10.
Silvertips Release Promotional Schedule

With the 2009-10 season right around the corner, Comcast Arena at Everett will once again be the site of many exciting events, as 27 of the team's 36 home games already feature a celebration or promotion planned with many other items currently in development.
