Third Round Selection Neumann Commits to Erie

Erie, Pennsylvania - Erie Otters third round pick at the 2015 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection, Brett Neumann, has committed to playing in Erie after signing a standard player agreement.

"The Erie Otters are fortunate to have such a talented player commit to the organization," General Manager Sherry Bassin said. "This young man has the ability and the character to be one of the leaders to create an opportunity for the Otters to attain great heights. We're excited to welcome the addition of Brett Neumann to the Otters family."

Neumann, a player to watch according to the OHL's preview coverage leading up to draft day, was taken 53rd overall in April's draft. The 5' 8", 160 pound forward captained the Don Mills Flyers to the OHL Cup Final in March. In 62 games played with Don Mills, Brett recorded 38 goals and 78 points. Most recently he finished second among scoring leaders with nine points in five games with GTHL Blue at the OHL Gold Cup.

"After coming down to Erie in the playoffs and meeting with (the Otters), I knew it was the best decision for me," said Brett Neumann. "I'm really excited and looking forward to getting started with the team.

The Toronto, Ontario native will join the Otters for their annual prospect camp which will be held the weekend of June 19 through the 21. A full schedule of events and media availability will be released in the near future.
