Montreal Alouettes News Release
Montreal - The Montreal Alouettes are kicking off their 2020 Ultimate Football tour, a football initiation program without contact for boys and girls is in its third year.
Many Alouettes players will be involved again this year: Martin Bédard, Boris Bede, Jean-Samuel Blanc, Félix Faubert-Lussier, Ãâ°tienne Moisan, Christophe Normand, Frédéric Plesius and Jean-Gabriel Poulin will travel the province to promote their love of football.
This program helps develop Quebec amateur football by teaching the game's fundamentals in a safe and simple manner. Until April 15, Alouettes players will visit 5th and 6th grade students in 80 elementary schools across Quebec, reaching out to close to 8,000 kids.
"We are already in our third season and our program is gaining in popularity. People talk about it more and more and it generates a lot of requests from schools that want us to pay them a visit, said Olivier Turcotte," Supervisor, Amateur Football for the Alouettes. "Our Ultimate Football program allows us to introduce children to football and to make them discover our sport. The way football is taught has greatly evolved and we want to demonstrate that it can be played safely."
This program is offered as part of extracurricular school activities, in collaboration with Football Québec and free for schools.
The Alouettes will host these clinics in various regions of Quebec as the 2020 Ultimate Football tour will notably stop in Alma, Chicoutimi, Laval, Montréal, Lévis, Québec, Rimouski and Sherbrooke.
