
Third Annual Pelicans High School Showcase This Weekend

MYRTLE BEACH S.C. - This weekend 14 high school baseball teams, six from South Carolina and eight from North Carolina, will clash at Coastal Federal Field in the 3rd Annual Pelicans High School Baseball Showcase presented by The Batter's Box. The event, which has grown from six teams in 2004 to 14 in `06 will feature two games on Friday, March 24th and a day full of baseball on Saturday, March 25th with five games on the docket.
The Batter's Box located in Surfside Beach, SC is proud to sponsor the Showcase for the second straight season. Following each game The Batter's Box will present the MVP with a personalized bat and all players and coaches will receive a free commemorative Showcase T-Shirt courtesy of The Batter's Box.
Fans can enter the ballpark for the Showcase games by purchasing a ticket to either a 2006 Pelicans game or the Montgomery Gentry concert, which go on sale Saturday at 10 am. All fans in attendance at the Showcase will take home a complimentary copy of Baseball America's Major League preview.
