With the win, Cleveland's eighth in the team's past nine games, the Monsters improved to 35-28-3-4 overall this season and with a .550 points percentage, currently sit alone in fourth place in the AHL's Central Division standings and in position for the moment for the team's second-consecutive postseason berth.
Zac Dalpe delivered Cleveland a 1-0 lead at 15:34 of the opening period on power-play feeds from Daniel Zaar and Dean Kukan before T.J. Tynan followed suit at 19:40 with another extra-man finish, from Markus Hannikainen and Sonny Milano, that made it 2-0 for the visitors heading into the middle stanza.
After a scoreless second period, the Monsters added two more goals in the third as an empty-net score from Justin Scott at 17:58, assisted by Hannikainen and John Ramage, pushed Cleveland's lead to 3-0 before Nick Moutrey tallied an even-strength goal at 18:11 to establish the Monsters' 4-0 final margin of victory with Milano collecting the play's lone assist.
