Round Rock Express News Release

The Express dropped its seventh straight game, falling 4-3 to Nashville to tie a season-high for futility. Humberto Quintero, Barry Wesson and Danny Klassen all had multi-hit nights.

Vying for his first win since July 14 - a stretch of six appearances - right-hander Chan Ho Park allowed four runs on eight hits and two strikeouts over six innings.

Nashville struck first, scoring a run on a double and a single in the first. Raines tied it with a two-out solo home run off of Mark DeFelice in the bottom of the frame before Round Rock took a 2-1 lead on Barry Wesson's RBI-double in the second.

Park kept the Sounds at bay over the next two innings, but in the fifth, two singles and a triple gave Nashville a 3-2 lead. Brad Nelson padded that with a solo shot in the sixth.

Humberto Quintero followed in the bottom half of the frame with a solo shot of his own, inching just fair of the foul pole to close the gap to 4-3.

In the ninth, Nashville threatened to pick up an insurance run when Ozzie Chavez doubled to left field with one out, and advanced to third on a fielding error. One batter later, Jose Macias flew out to center fielder Barry Wesson, who gunned down Chavez at home plate.

But Round Rock went down in order to end the game.

Round Rock hits the road for five games against Omaha before returning home Aug. 27 to face Albuquerque.
