Syracuse Silver Knights News Release
MARCELLUS, N.Y. - The Syracuse Silver Knights held an open inter-squad scrimmage today at The Ultimate Goal Family Sports Center in Marcellus, New York. The scrimmage was open to the public. For the first time this season, fans got a chance to see the 2017-18 Silver Knights in action.
"I thought it went well," said Head Coach Ryan Hall after the scrimmage. "You could tell some of the guys were adapting based on what we went over in training this week. Overall it was a great venue for us to watch."
The scrimmage ended in a 6-6 draw. Players who are already on the roster and men who are still trying to earn a spot on the team participated in the scrimmage. Fans filled the stands of The Ultimate Goal Family Sports Center to get a glimpse of the Silver Knights. After the scrimmage, fans flooded the field for autographs and pictures.
"There's a lot of new faces - a lot of guys who have never played together," said Hall. "So, we're trying to get everybody on the same page and get the young guys caught up as soon as possible."
The Silver Knights take the field for the first time this season in California on Friday. The men in orange, silver, and black take on the Turlock Express on November 3rd at 10:05 pm. Syracuse plays its first game at the War Memorial Arena on November 10th when the Ontario Fury visit for the CNY Celebration of Soccer Home Opener.
