SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse Silver Knights are excited to announce Ben Ramin's return for his second season with the team. The midfielder was born and raised in Baldwinsville minutes away from the team's practice facility. Per team and league rules, the terms of the contract were not disclosed.

"I'm very excited" Ramin said after being resigned. "This group has put a lot of hard work in over the summer and we still kind of have a bad taste in our mouths from last year. I feel like we underachieved and let down the fans a little bit. We're really putting some good work together and looking to achieve a lot this year on and off the field."

Ramin was born to play the game, following the footsteps of both his father and uncle in playing for the Syracuse University soccer team. He was a forward for the Orange squad for his freshman and sophomore terms before transferring to the University of New Hampshire in 2014.

"Ben looks sharp and adds size, speed and a physical presence to our team," said Silver Knights General Manager Tommy Tanner. "Ben has made great strides from year one."

In 2015, Ramin helped UNH earn its best season in school history. That year, he started 10 games and notched seven total points for the Wildcats. The 24-year-old just has a passion for the game, spending the Silver Knights' offseason playing with Syracuse FC. Ramin is looking to help this team more in his sophomore season after featuring in only seven games last year.

"I'm just looking to help the team any way I can" he said. "Last year was my rookie year, I didn't see too much time and now I'm looking to find more time on the field and help my team win."

Ramin suits up in orange, silver and black next Friday, November 3rd, when the Knights take on the Turlock Express. Syracuse opens its home schedule against the Ontario Fury for CNY Celebration of Soccer Home Opener on Friday, November 10th, at 7:05 in the OnCenter War Memorial Arena.
