The Rattlers Stand Firm at Home, Defeating the Sharks 55-35

GLENDALE, Ariz. - Rattlers secure victory against the now 0-5 Jacksonville Sharks for a final score of 55-35.

The game kicked off with the Rattlers taking possession first, led by the triumphant return of quarterback Dalton Sneed. Despite a solid defensive effort from Arizona, Jacksonville struck first, taking an early lead. However, Dalton Sneed faced pressure but managed to secure three points for the Rattlers with a special teams play. Dawson Evitts showcased his skills with two extra points after completing a deuce, narrowing the gap. As the quarter drew to a close, the Sharks held a narrow lead of 7-5, setting the stage for what appeared to be a close game ahead.

Shannon Brook's touchdown propelled the Rattlers into the lead early in the second quarter. Both teams exchanged touchdowns, with the Sharks momentarily reclaiming the lead. However, Dalton Sneed's precision pass to Jamal Miles secured another touchdown, ending the half with a 26-21 Rattlers lead. The Rattlers advanced to the one-yard line with only three seconds left in the first half. Brooks carried the ball and scored a touchdown, followed by a successful extra point, giving the Rattlers a 26-21 lead as they headed into halftime. Brooks led the Rattlers with three rushing touchdowns.

Sneed's deep pass to Jamal Miles extended the Rattlers' lead early in the third quarter. However, the Rattlers' defense shined in the third quarter. Led by standout plays from players like Omari Alexander, who secured a crucial interception, the defense stifled the Sharks' offensive efforts at every turn. Despite Jacksonville's desperate attempts to claw their way back into the game, the Rattlers stood firm.

Dalton Sneed's rushing touchdown and solid offensive line play extended the Rattlers' lead early in the final quarter and added two touchdowns under his belt. Despite a late interception, the Rattlers maintained their composure, securing another touchdown and increasing their lead to 55-35. The Rattlers' defense held firm in the final minutes, securing their first home game commanding a 55-35 victory over the Sharks.

Rattlers head into a bye week to rest up and recover as they take on the Tucson Sugar Skulls in their next game on May 11, 2024.
