Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins concluded their first three-in-three stretch of games this weekend, taking all six possible points in the standings. Hitting the road Friday against Springfield, the P-Bruins capped off their third win in three tries against the Thunderbirds 5-2. Coming off a strong win at Springfield, Providence returned to the Dunk to face Belleville as Jordan Szwarz and Peter Cehlarik rallied Providence back with a goal each in the third period after being down 2-0. Providence eventually came out on top in a shootout thanks to Szwarz's lone shootout goal to beat the Senators 3-2. The P-Bruins ended their three game stretch on Sunday with a 4-1 victory over the Laval Rocket in the team's first ever match-up with the franchise to top off the three game weekend.

Their win on Sunday puts Providence at the number one spot in the Eastern Conference as they started the season off with a 5-1-0 record. It is the best start the team has had since 2008-09, though they have a ways to go to match the best start in team history. The 2007-08 team started the season 11-1-1 on their way to a division title. Szwarz finished the trio of games as the top scorer for the P-Bruins with five goals as well as an assist for six points. His five goals lead the team and his +6 rating also paces the club. Danton Heinen had an eventful weekend as well with one goal and five assists in the three games and currently leads the team in assists with seven on the season. Heinen and Szwarz are tied for the team lead in points with eight.

In net this weekend, Jordan Binnington, Dan Vladar and Zane McIntyre each made a start for the team. Binnington finished with 92.3% save percentage and two goals allowed in Friday's victory. Vladar took the net on Saturday after being called up from ECHL affiliate Atlanta Gladiators and finished with two goals allowed and a 92.6% save percentage in the shootout victory. Zane McIntyre started between the pipes Sunday after returning from Boston, finishing the game with a 96.7% save percentage and just one goal allowed in the victory against Laval.

Providence hits the road this weekend beginning with the team's first matchup of the season against the Binghamton Devils at 7:05 PM. The P-Bruins then travel south to Hershey, Pennsylvania where they face off against the Bears on Sunday with faceoff set for 7:05 PM.
