The Party in the Back Is Back with Mullets in Movember

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, are pleased to announce that the party in the back has taken over the business in the front as the team will celebrate hockey hair while raising funds and awareness for men's health with Mullets In Movember! The puck will drop with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Mullets In Movember at 7:00 p.m. at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Saturday, November 19, 2011.
A longstanding tradition in Manchester, Mullet Night and the celebration of hockey hair sprung onto the scene in 2003 when the Monarchs honored the "business in the front, party in the back" hairstyle that was made popular by both professional athletes and entertainers. In recognition of the history of the mullet through the years and following "Mullet Night - Redneck Edition" in 2008 and "Rock The Mullet Night" in 2009, the Monarchs are celebrating both the party in the back and the hockey stache with Mullets In Movember!
In partnership with Norris Cotton Cancer Center and The Movember Foundation, the Monarchs will pay tribute to hockey hair while also extending homage to the coveted mustache. It is tradition, not only in the Monarchs locker room but locker rooms throughout the world, for the players to go unshaven on their upper lip throughout the month of November to raise awareness and funds for men's health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.
"Mullets In Movember is the perfect marriage between the '10-90' hairdo that we have come to idolize in Monarchs Country and the infamous stache of hockey greats such as former Philadelphia Flyers Dave Schultz and former Monarchs forward George Parros," said Monarchs President Darren Abbott. "We are proudly paying tribute to this union of great hockey hair and great facial hair on November 19."
Mullets In Movember will feature Monarchs players in their most stylish mustaches in which you can vote for the best facial hair while donating to a great cause! The Monarchs will also distribute 3,000 mullets complete with matching mustaches. So dust off your old mullet wigs, grow out your best mustache and join the Monarchs for another unforgettable Mullet Night.

A special Mullets In Movember ticket package will also be available in early October!
