The forgotten one

March 9, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Maywood Buzz News Release

Maywood, CA - The Cleveland Cavs LeBron James is the Choosen One, so the would make the Maywood Buzz G/F Lamar Gayle the Fogotten One.

Pro Basketball News just released it's list of top 20 Minor League Basketball Players and left off that list was Lamar Gayle. Gayle who's Maywood Buzz finish their ABA regular season this Saturday night vs the Hollywood Fame and PBN #19 Ranked player Billy Knight.

"Lamar has had a terrific season. Last year he was an ABA All-Star and would have been one this season had he started the season with the Buzz" stated Buzz Head Coach/General Manager Burrel Lee III.

Gayle is leading the Buzz in almost everything, 29.6ppg, 13.3rpg, 5.1apg. The 13,3rpg is awesome for a 6'6 guard. Has had a few 40pt games, many 30pt games and only one game this season was he held below 10rebs.

The Maywood Buzz who are 13-15 and ranked #22 in the ABA Polls consider Lamar their Kobe Bryant. "He can score at will, rebounds with the best big men in the ABA and still finds his open teammates. He is by far one of the best I have seen in the last 3yrs of the ABA" added Lee.

"I just come out work hard, and play with my team. If coach needs me to score I will, if he needs me to rebound or pass I will. I just love playing the game and Burrel and my teammates make this possible" says Gayle.

Gayle who last season played with the Buzz came late to game, that he didn't play until the second half and still scored 51pts. He had two 50pt games last year.

"I just hope this is his offseason where some NBA team gives him a look. A chance is all he needs, a foot in the door and I think he will open some eyes" says Lee.

Gayle who can play on both sides of the ball and is also a former California Jr. College Player of the Year, where his Cerritos College team won the State Championship.

In a year or two the forgotten one will no longer be that.
