RazorSharks Finish Off Sound, 114-88

Rochester, NY- In front of 4,469 fans at the Blue Cross Arena, the Rochester RazorSharks defeated the Strong Island Sound, 114-88. Lazarus Sims scored a double double with 18 points and 14 assists. Brian Woodward was the game high scorer with 27 points in a losing effort.

Seven players scored in double figures for the defending ABA champion RazorSharks. Brian Edwards led the way with 22 points, and Eric Coley had 14.

Rochester extended their home winning streak to 35 games overall since the 2005-05 season and have an 84 percent winning percentage with a 54-10 record since that time. They are getting hot at the right time with a nine-game winning streak heading into the ABA playoffs. With the victory, the RazorSharks have clinched a first-round bye by finishing in the top eight in the ABA Power Rankings. They will host a second-round game on Sunday, March 18th versus an opponent yet to be determined.

The Sound (18-13) have four games remaining in the regular season. On Friday, March 9th, they will take on the Newark Express at Essex College in New Jersey. They return home for a weekend set against the Brooklyn Comets on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday at 3:00 p.m., when the Express ride into town. The Sound wrap up the regular season on Tuesday when they travel to Newark again.
