The Diablos win 6-2 over Coastal Bend

J.D Reininger went three for five with two home runs and three RBI's as the Diablos defeated the Coastal Bend Aviators 6-2 on Saturday night from Robstown, Texas.

El Paso had a power filled second inning. Logan Wood and J.D Reininger each connected on solo-homers against T.J Hendricks giving the Diablos a 2-0 advantage.

Coastal Bend reached the scoreboard in the bottom of the third. Chase Gerdes led off the frame with an infield single. James Lofton plated Gerdes on a double off the right field wall, cutting the lead to 2-1.

J.D Reininger continued his hot hitting in the top of the fourth. Reininger smashed his second solo-homer of the game to left field for the 3-1 lead. The Diablos extended the lead to 5-1 in the top of the fifth. Matt Kent picked up a sacrifice fly and Evan Conley had a run scoring single.

El Paso pieced together another run in the top of the seventh. Matt Kent led things off with a single. He advanced to second when Logan Wood was hit by pitch and to third on a wild pitch. J.D Reininger picked up his third RBI with a single through the left side for the 6-1 lead.

Coastal Bend scored their final run of the contest in the bottom of the eighth. Bryon Smith scored on an RBI-ground out from Matt Spencer. The lead would remain 6-2 in El Paso's favor.

Josh Neitz (9-4) picks up the win as he threw six full allowing one earned run off of four hits with one walk and four strikeouts.

T.J Hendricks (3-11) takes the loss as he tossed six innings allowing four earned runs off of 11 hits with one walk and three strikeouts.

The Diablos will wrap up the three game series with Coastal Bend on Sunday night at 6:05 PM (MST). Aaron Trolia will face off against Pedro Flores. The game will be broadcast live at www.diablos.com with Jon Barr on the call.
