Brockton Rox News Release

Brockton, MA (Monday, May 7, 2007) - On Wednesday, May 16th at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton, Red Sox fans and Brockton Rox fans will have the opportunity to see and hear two favorites of Red Sox Nation - Dennis "Oil Can" Boyd and Jerry Trupiano as Boyd leads his All Stars in an exhibition game against the Rox. The Can was an integral, and always engaging, part of the 1986 American League Champions and "Troop" was one of the memorable radio voices of the 2004 World Championship. Oil Can pitched for the Red Sox in parts of 8 seasons and Jerry enthralled listeners for 14 Red Sox seasons. In addition, both Boyd and Trupiano have Rox connections. Oil Can pitched for Brockton during the 2005 season, while Trupiano's son Brian played for the Rox during the 2006 season.

Joining Oil Can will be his "All-Stars" including former Red Sox star pitcher, Bill "The Spaceman" Lee, former National League All-Star Marquis Grissom, Delino DeShields, who played 13 years in the majors, and former Red Sox pitcher Ken Ryan.

Joining Jerry Trupiano in the broadcast booth will be his son, Brian, as they follow in the father-son footsteps of the Jack and Joe Buck, and Harry and Skip Caray. The game will be broadcast on a taped delay by Brockton Community Access Television.

"'Oil Can' Boyd was a phenomenal presence in this city when he pitched for us in 2005," said Rox GM Andy Crossley. "Having Jerry Trupiano emcee our Hot Stove Banquet this winter was as much a thrill for the organization as it was for our fans. Now it is an incredible honor to have them both here for a game."

Tickets for the May 16th game are just $10 General Admission. First pitch is scheduled for 6 PM. Fans can purchase tickets through the Rox Ticket Office at (508) 559-7070 or online at: www.brocktonrox.com.
